Took us two hours to get home - broken down freight down train caused chaos.
Leaflet has been told by the new place that he 'isn't right' after 2 weeks - with no real sense of what he may have done wrong

Has no-one offered to help him get "right"?

That's not very fair, AL. As employers surely they should give him some clarity, support and training and the opportunity to be "right" before they call it a day.

No - and he hasn't been paid anything for what he's done - apprentices seem not to be given much protection. Mr AL will try and get a bit of clarification. I have to say Leaflet's handling it all very well (possibly better than we are).

That's no way to treat an employee. Sounds like they've royally let him down. And he is surely entitled to be paid.

That's not good. Marzipan made and on the cakes with Cedd's help. Trying to decide whether to log on to recruitment software and shortlist for a post we are advertising or take my laptop to hockey tomorrow and do it rinkside.
