Home from bingo with only a small amount for the christmas pot but if we play table bingo we keep our own winnings so £125 to treat myself to something for my birthday;-)
Do families still listen to the same music on long journeys these days, or are the kids all plugged into their own techno-worlds?
We had a cassette of nursery rhymes and children's songs which was popular in our car 25 years ago. The singing and the arrangements were both really good. My all-time favourite was the long version of Tom Tom the Piper's Son (the Over the Hills and Far Away version) and if I ever catch the opening or closing credits of episodes of Sharpe on a distant channel it takes me right back to long trips in the car when the boys were tiny.
We had some free Famous Five stories from a newspaper that we played in the car when my two were around 10 and 14. We still do impressions of them and fall about laughing at 'Aunt Fanny'!
Yes, we often listen to the same music, some of it Now that's what I call crap stuff but also why my kids can sing along to Blur, Bowie, Springsteen, Talking Heads
Hmmm QP will occasionally listen if it's something he likes. All the music on his phone is from my iTunes account anyway. If it's not rock he will stick headphones in.
Bath earlier. Ella Fitzgerald sings Cole Porter was the soundtrack. My Mum listened to it a lot, especially after my Grandad died as it was his favourite.
