We used to stay up (and enjoy fireworks and festivities) when on the Canary Islands for our Xmas hols. This year, I'm parkrunning on new year's day so plan to go to bed early. Expect, if I have got to sleep, I will get woken up again by fireworks, but as long as I get some sleep I'll be happy.

We used to host family gatherings but my cousin has taken the mantle, my parents are away, in laws sometimes come but I think by time the frenchies have left they’ll be ready for some quiet time. So think we’ll go to J’s. We are out with friends NYD.
