Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Saturday, a load of Brit chalet staff went home on specially chartered planes, also some Swedes and Danes left in a coach. This morning, the Germans were lined up to leave in convoy at 8 am. Latest is that the Hungarians get to leave.

Perhaps I should get myself in a place where I could leave at relatively short notice, although I'm not sure how I'd get to an airport with a flight to England yet. They are still flying twice a day from Zurich and this has been my hope all along.

Emuesli. The new coffee beans I bought online were tested today. Verdict is they don’t smell as nice as my usual but they have a nice aftertaste. I’ve got 6 packets so it’s lucky they’re ok!

ar - have you contacted the consulate/embassy to at least be on a list or a 'known' UK person?

(and if you've been on the phone 4 hours each day to them, sorry for asking the obvious!)

Ringing telephones which are mostly not being answered. Sending texts and WhatsApps too for a bit of variety

Just chewed on the side of my finger and made it bleed. Not very clever.

Well as well as my earlier whinge I then couldn’t stop crying for about an hour. Telephone call to my Mum and Skype messages with colleague and I feel a bit better. Giving myself permission to take it easy today. Reading rather than report writing.

It's chaos here: An elderly couple are walking past just as the binmen and the postman have arrived.

I have replaced the batteries in the TV remote.

The old ones were flat, so it wasn't working.
