Which induction hob, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, built-in microwave. Last time we did this I just went to a local family run appliance store, let the owner demonstrate the various appliances, and chose accordingly. It was all very painless and 10 years on I have no complaints with any of the appliances, but of course they've been replaced or are astronomically expensive now, especially for a house we only use at weekends. Now it seems the only way to buy is online or from Curry's spits. That's progress, allegedly

I had a rather bizarre salad for lunch - I brought in lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and cucumber to have with tinned sardines, and then thought I'd supplement with something more from the work salad bar. The shaved fennel looked good so I got a small tub. It also contained walnuts which I think had been caramelised - they were certainly sweet. Not sure how well they went with the sardines but I ate it all ...
