Diogenes
Cooked a spicy chicken and bean type dish. Washed up. Listened to some Steely Dan.

DS starts secondary school tomorrow.

I found that a tricky time, Dio, when my younger one started secondary school. I'd been quite involved with their Primary school, on the PTA, going in to hear children read, etc etc but secondary school seemed like being cut off. :-(

So I became a parent governor there :-) Enough involvement to keep me happy but not so much as to embarrass him.

It was the first time I'd watched it since we watched it in the cinema in St Ives just before NaM went to Uni.
I was a mess!

DD2 still has 2 years left there, LD, and I was a parent governor for 6 years until last year. Mrs D works there too, so we still have a big connection.

Fierce and Fearless Fleecy
I was thrilled to leave primary school and PTA type bollocks behind! I didn't walk ds2 to school for the last 2 years of primary school anyway so the transition was more gradual for me.

Ds2 is making pancakes again (unaided and unprompted). Teaching him this is probably my most significant accomplishment of the year :)

Well done on your achievement Fleecy.

On a sofa. The dog has had another walk, on the beach this time. Hr is currently staring at me and whining. I'm not sure why. I suspect something to do with food.

I'm not sure I could get through Toy Story 3 again as it has *two* moments that reduce me to a blubbering wreck. It is *the* best movie trilogy and I really wish they weren't making a fourth one.

I have replaced the batteries in the TV remote.

The old ones were flat, so it wasn't working.
