Quite agree V'rap! Keep them out of the flower beds!

I managed to get 4 jars of chutney out of the remaining green tomatoes in the greenhouse last week, and we finished the last of the ripe ones yesterday morning for breakfast!

We also got a bonus baby cucumber wfrom a resprouting vine!

The greenhouse is cleared now, just home to some (covered) hyacinth bulbs and some poppy seedlings.

And back to shop bought tomatoes. 🙄

Fizz :-)
Having just had a pack of very inferior shop bought tomatoes, we’ve decided to not bother again for the foreseeable. We can live without them.

I've had a couple of very nice raspberries today. Fruit forming on strawberries too, and flowers on the quince. Some very confused plants ...

I have fruit on strawberries, but very unripe and unlikely to ripen.
Grubbed up the last and forgotten tomato plant a couple of days ago and rescued the last few ripe toms from it. Still getting the occaional handful of raspberries.

The garlic went in on the shortest day as per and is now 6 inches tall.

Chaenomeles in full flower but still has a couple of quince on it. Looks odd.

I garden by the phases of the moon, so I look at my moon planting calendar. I initially though it was woowoo, but then, to prove my point, I experimented by planting beetroot on a "leaf" day and lettuce on a root day. Guess what? Leafy beetroot, minimal beets. Rooty lettuce, not much leaf. The ones planted on a flower day bolted quickly,! Of course, as the pull of the moon causes tidal changes, it will pull or push equally on plants!
