Bulb shoots (bluebells and daffodils) have appeared in the garden. Several clematises (clemati?) have new leaves on. A bit of ornamental thistle appears to be overwintering.
In the greenhouse, there is new growth on the fig. It never really came to anything this year, but seems to have started its regrowth months early.

I noticed my clematis too, most odd as it is after a week of frosts and snow....I suppose the general direction is warmer.
my experiment has been to sow lettuce in December and see what happens....it germinated, took 2 weeks mind. Shed....plastic roof, large cold frame in effect.

Daffodils coming up! While also planting some for clients. It is very warm today! Roses still flowering too, it is weird! I had lettuce, tatsoi, spinach and swiss chard in in August, and even the lettuce has survived! I dug it out from under almost 40 cms of snow Things have gone decidedly weird, climate wise...

Hello gardening types! It has been Spring like the last couple of days and I have been working on all sorts of garden design projects for my clients and a little bit for myself! I had a kiwi arch made and have planted 5 hardy kiwis to grow up it, watch this space
I am in the process of creating a large new no dig potato bed too, and have ordered 4 lots of seed potatoes: Desiree, Charlotte, Pink Fir Apple and Anya.
Lots of seeds have been ordered/are arriving and someone is building my new greenhouse, which should be up and ready to use come the end of this month! But once my Aubergine and pepper seeds arrive, I shall be planting those in a heated propagator in the house.
I am not looking forward to re-building my fruit cage. I was lazy and didn't remove the netting on the roof in October, then we had 40 cms of snow in December and it broke
Anyone else keen to get going with growing?

Fierce and Focused Fleecy
I planted some hardy perennial seeds today. Might have been a bit early but it’s pretty sheltered on the IoW, not sure my garden ever sees frost. I need to plant some stuff in pots too, specially for the roof terrace. Next week I need to get stuck into my allotment. I haven’t cut back my currants from last year, might be a bit late.

Fragile Do Not Bend
I’ve been nagging my husband for months to order some wood to make raised beds for a veg plot, he’s finally ordered some. Hopefully it’ll come soon then I can order some compost to fill them.
