Cheers SQ - Always impressive long race training! Makes me tired just reading it.. Little session between the station & work - 4 x 2 mins off 60, then 4 x 30 off 30. Rucksack light enough not to be a pain. Not upped the pace in the Adios Pro 3's before. Impressed. Not considering them over the Tak 3's on saturday though. |

Improving thanks @Sorequads Been lurking regularly but not had a lot to post. Wish I had your dedication to marathon training: those BAC sessions seem to get you into great shape. Good to read of the usual suspects going well & the thoroughbreds getting back on it. Managed 6 days running last week for 40M including another 21:2x parkrun. Sunday off & then back to it this week with 6M, 6K, 10M hilly, 5K & hilly trail 7M today making 30 in the last 4 days. Got 5 weeks til Marathon Eryri so good job I’m getting some regular running in. Lucked out with a free place for next weekend’s Forest Half Marathon which’ll be a good indicator of where I’m at. Collected 3 pairs of bargain trainers from Vinted after work. A virgin pair of Adios 4 & another slightly worn pair as well as a v lightly worn pair of Boston 8s. Total cost £63 including postage etc 😎 Wore the Bostons on tonight’s trail run & they felt so good. Plenty of life left in them: bouncy, tread is barely worn in & completely intact uppers. Still got a pair of Boston 6 for £10 & some Lightstrike Pro for £25 to come too. Great use of last week’s Friday off 😂 |

Like the sound of those bargains, Jools. I've never looked at Vinted but may have to. Fantastic you are doing Eryri. Still the best marathon in the UK in my opinion. I love the Adios Pro 3s, SC. They seem to work well at all paces. Great longevity too. Mine are on 400M+ and still feel great. |

Yes SQ - really seem to be better if you are on your toes - this was great on those short reps, not 100% sure what they would be like on a longer race. Not sure if I could use them in the Luton half - the lightstrike is very firm. |

I've seen a few people mentioned Vinted and got some bargains. Got to pick the right super shoes haven't you. Wouldn't have fancied some 4%s that had any sort of mileage as they were clattered by 100miles max. Track tonight, good session. 5mins tempo (3min) 5x3mins (5k) 75secs, bar 5th which was (3min) and another 5mins tempo Usual track drill, rough idea at watch / readjust in head to "actual" pace. But generally sure it was in and around 5.50 or so for tempo, and quicker than the raceachieved 5.40 5k pace for those. Stayed a little chunk ahead of the lads working in a pair behind me as wanted to make sure I kept on / ahead of my own schedule. As always look forward to a SAT OFF after a 50mile Mon to Fri |

Great over a half I reckon, SC. Like the track sandwich, SG. In less than classic pre Sunday race prep, squeezed in a long run after work yesterday: 18M at 7:58. Aftershokz ran out of battery half way through which was actually lovely on the peaceful canal. Legs had nothing else on offer. |

I'm not even sure what distance race would be more painful after an 18 mile on a Friday evening. 5k burst or HM slog. I see people do parkrun Sat morn after Friday track, but truth be told they're doing them steady at best. 13 today, 7.32 sort of fare. One of those rare drizzly the whole way jobs, with a late stinger of super heavy rain last mile or so. Thankfully then rather than an 1hour 15 earlier. Copped a right old splash then too, as well as some clown crossing the road, seeing me, then instead of staying one side of the pavement, ambled across meaning i smacked spark into him. Didn't stop though, and all hugged out |

Don’t mind a drizzly long run, SG. But agree that copping an absolute soaking is far less bad at the end. Collision doesn’t sound as bad as can happen - thank goodness you haven’t been on the Reggie bench programme! Turnout today at the fantastic Apperley Quarter Marathon. Race report here: fetcheveryone.com/blog-share.php?id=489002 73M for the week, albeit longest on 18M. Four weeks to Abingdon so hope to squeeze a longer one in somewhere. Work looks a bit mad this week, so will have to see what gives. |

18miles then a Sunday race Looks like you had a good turnout. And that casually chatting bit is hilariously true isn't it. We sometimes find ourselves doing it at track until it gets real and it goes hush! Though this last couple of weeks I've refused such behaviour and made sure I stayed a bit ahead to avoid it and more importantly hit the right paces. |

Good race SQ! Session too SG. Relays Saturday - left stupidly early so the missus could do the Aldershot Parkrun. Got to the arena about 10am, started hammering down with rain, so I retreated to the car for a bit. Ollie was off in the U15's at 11.30 - 25 seconds quicker than last year - 10.59 for his 3k lap, so he was happy enough. Weather improved (possibly too much for me) so was warm and humid by 3.15 for senior and masters men. I was leading our V50 team out, 2 x 3k laps. Start felt a bit fast, through the 1st lap in 10.02 - through 5k in 17 and 20.32 for the 6k. Did 20.09 last year, so bit annoying. Got silver medals though, pipped by AFD for the gold Few beers after, after no booze for 3 weeks and felt like crap yesterday, so no run at all. Going to have a real think about how I drink - going to have to be 2-3 proper ones max now I think before I go for the non alcoholics. Commute running today - absolutely soaked on way to station this morning and then did the 4 mile Islington loop. |
