Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Top analysis SQ, SG will be proud

PMJ - i have spent plenty of time on a turbo over the years. I always do some sort of session, similar to running sessions e.g. 10x3min, or 5min reps or 90sex reps, even 20min reps. Helps pass the time and gets the HR up a bit which is difficult to do as a runner with weaker bike legs. Keep rests short to keep HR up. With no impact you can do sessions more regularly unlike running.

While we are waiting the @Sorequads and @Forrest Jooligan Newport times and reports.

A little update from my little fell race today. Absolutely delighted with 8th woman and first v40. Ran the ups hard as I am much better on those and then struggled on the down as expected. Lost two places on this bit so need to work on it. I'm better on the really technical descents it's just the trail stuff doesn't suit. Anyway, as usual I left before the prize giving so no idea if there was a prize. Maybe a mug. Hopefully clubmates grabbed it before me. Must learn to hang around 😂

(hopefully that works!)

Next race on Tuesday so rest day tomorrow.

Some good lols above 😆.

Great racing, @Curly45. You look a lot happier on that ascent than your compatriots.

Newport was a great event and I highly recommend it as a race. Blog here: fetcheveryone.com/blog-share.php?id=498283 First section is a repeat of yesterday's post so do skip that if you are inclined to read. Massive shout out to the legendary coach @TippTop and great to see @Forrest Jooligan and meet @OuchOuch for the first time.

Very nice race @Sorequads , will pore over the report tomorrow, but saw the strava update.

You certainly deserve it, as TT was testing you with some of those hard and long combos, but you came through it beautifully.

Having done half the distance today, a good min slower per mile, I'll always say sooner you than me for that distance!

Just on that - had a nice route planned out, got about 2miles in, then realised I'd somehow missed that the massive bridge between Marlow (Temple?) and Hurley was shut.
And looking on the net, had been for 2 years. Whoops.

I had assumed the "bridge" being shut was the tiny one the other end of Hurley. Whoops again. Rest of the

run was a freestyled random route around Marlow, a bit into some offroad bits, a few hills and one of those ones where you're padding it out!

Good turnout @Curly45 .
What sort of distance and elevations?

I still dine out on my one fell race, that had 1000feet over 1mile and not great footing either.
(16min mile to start off on!)
Made the Murder Mile 680 feet on road feel a cigar out in comparison!! (sub 10)

Is that pic on the one flat bit, or is it a deceptive down?

Hi there - this thread started in 2010 over on RW and started as an improvement thread for myself under Moraghan's coaching, through to more of a general collaboration tool and place to share training and long winded race reports.

Thanks to the fetch community for allowing us to move over, and we'd welcome loads of new contributors adding to the thread, as we were definitely running on empty with a small bunch of posters near the end!
