I will see how I feel when I get to 22 on the first set. Failing to achieve 3 X 23 would be dissappointing. Doing 3 X 22 a little quicker would be motivational and probably have the same effect on upper body strength....thats what this is in aid of isnt it :-) Let me check who has done 3 X 23 today.

Most people don't run every day - although I know an awful lot do - but people tell me on the rest days your body does recuperate and rest days are good for you. Is it honestly a good thing to do this relentlessly every day? Surely your arms, shoulder joints etc might just want a little rest? Please don't shout me down, just wondering :-)

This is just in case I can't manage 3 x 3 tomorrow after my night out this evening. And XFB my press ups are only going to include 1 real one - just can't do any more - and am working on form, so not an awful lot of movement either.... but the intention is there. I am definitely going through the motion of doing these. Good luck with your next lot of reps.

just go for it xfb!

3 x 23 done. As lise said, easier than 22s. I have noticed I am now doing more pondering in the down position, and then more of a snap up and back down again

lise well done once again.

Hamish keep it up.

exflyboy hope they went to plan ;-)

Longboat - I to was spending far more time on the down position but now I am doing the snap up and back down as you put it.

Not one for training in the eveing but just done my 3 x 23 had to really force myself today. Same again with the timing today sets finished in 4.28 last few really did have to work hard but form still good. My chest is starting to see a difference too ;-)

Push on all

I did manage 3 X 23 this evening. I thought yesterday was hard, but I now realise I was lying as this evening was harder still :-). I did them in 6 min 1 sec, a bit quicker than last night. I do my lingering in the up position. I suppose we all ought to try to get to 3 X 25 by xmas day before cracking. I realise its not stronger arms I need, its stronger pectoral muscles. Do Argos do them?

Worth a try!

Well done. I agree - 3 x 25 is my target for now, and I have not thought beyond that yet

About This Thread

Maintained by Dogtanian
Start on day 1 with 3 x 1 press up. On day 2 move to 3 x 2 and keep increasing by one every day. If you fail to do the target for the day then you try the same number the next day, only increasing when you have done the session properly. The Marathon talk challenge is to get to 3 x 100 push ups.

There are no real rules except all three sets must be done in the same session though. No going to wash your hair/walk the dog in-between sets:-).
