Another vote for Seville here - flat, fast, great city for a long weekend, lots of goodies and cheap

Well Seville is in Feb and Venice Oct. Personally I preferred Seville ( I went wife the missus and there was more to do and easier to get around) but if it too close then Venice is still a great race.
Hope this helps

Thanks! It'll be Feb 2015 rather than 2014 if it's Seville :-). Was planning on Venice as we want to make a long weekend of it & I thought there would be lots to see and do but sounds as if Seville would be just as good.

Right have gone and done it and entered Venice, timing was the deciding factor, as the missus quite rightly pointed out she will still be on maternity leave next October but not the following February so easier to fit in.
Thanks for the tips everyone.

Don't they make oranges in Seville?

Indeed Nick, but if you have ever been to Seville and picked one up and eaten it, you will quickly discover why the parks are strewn with uncollected fruit.
And then a Scottish ship needed ballast for the trip back to Dundee and that's how marmalade was invented.

NP - Lost forever unfortunately I got the following response from Fetch to Feedback.
"Re: FETCH FEEDBACK (REF:14884)
Unfortunately yes, too late. I think it was one of about 30 threads that were lost due to a bit of over-engineered code I'd written to back them up. I hopefully have a better system in place now."
