I love the irony of code written to back something up causing its disappearance :-)

There's still the article. And it's like being really pissed, we can have the conversation all over again and no-one will remember the first time.

On the plus side, it appears that it might not have been me that broke it :-)

Was with you up until I read "All three courses have long grades with altitude loss and gains nearing 1,000 feet at a time.."

Sounds even steeper than Delahays..

Whilst I've not done the Crater Lake Marathon myself I have been there several times and it is utterly stunning on "sunny blue sky" day, from what I've heard its a nice little marathon but really pretty tough as you're up at 6000' or so which for us sea level folk means a lot of huffing and puffing!

It's certainly not a PB course by any stretch of the imagination but given my best man lives an hours drive away it would seem a mid-summer trip to visit him and his family would be a perfect excuse to combine with a little run in the hills.

I've always said, when there are good lists and info in a thread, we should copy it to an article, then link the article from the thread title (you need a thread for the debate and chat and craic, but an article is better for persisting good info). Not many of us use the articles (now called Wiki, I think) which is a shame.Sorry your thread got composted. :-)G

And a couple of websites with useful info:
Marathon guide is brilliant for US maras but has the most comprehensive European list I've ever seen marathonguide.com
This is the AIMS site distancerunning.co.uk
