Wow, that is one for my list of races for the future Fitzer. Looks pretty tough though.

Did it as my first marathon this year emdee. Loved it, really well organised, pretty flat apart from a bit of a hill at around 16 or 17 miles I think, then right at the end when you come up to the Coliseum. Starts and finishes at the Coliseum which is fab. First few miles once you get out of the centre are a bit dull but once you get back in it's good scenery. Plenty of people lining the streets although a lot of them just seemed interested in crossing the road rather than supporting, by the time I got there they were probably a bit bored though.. Anyway, I would recommend it. Not that I have any others to compare it to whatsoever.. |

Amsterdam marathon is good. Flat (obviously) and down the canals. Finishes in the old olympic stadium. Also, I ran Melbourne marathon this year, another flat one finishes in the MCG...... however, nothing beats London !!! Still the best by a long shot !!

Rome is awesome. Really well organised and a great start and finish under the Colosseum. You're more likely to trip over while looking at the sights rather than on the cobbles (a few patches that can get slippery) and you run through the Vatican too. And pasta, pizza, red wine and gelato for carb-loading It's one of my favourites. Great time of year too in March, the weather is perfect.
