I am waiting to hear about Berlin too but as it is such an expensive entry fee I won't be too upset if I don't get a place. Every cloud.

Similar position to Solo re Berlin. I entered the ballot after watching this year's race, but if I don't get in it won't be a disaster. I haven't booked accommodation in anticipation.

Could be a costly first week in December as results of Berlin & Chicago ballots are a week apart plus they announce the ticket ballot for Wimbledon - could be £600 - £700 poorer very quickly next week !

New major coming !!

Are you ready for some exciting news, Australia?

Sydney is well on its way to becoming the seventh Abbott World Marathon Major.

The Sydney Marathon has successfully passed stage one and is now advancing to the final stage of its candidacy. If it meets all criteria again in 2024, Sydney will join the prestigious ranks of the Abbott World Marathon Majors in 2025.

We acknowledge operational aspects of the event need improvement, rest assured that our dedicated team is actively addressing these in collaboration with Government agencies. Anticipate big announcements, including course changes, start times and enhanced facilities such as improved access to toilets, water stations, and more. If you're thinking about it, we're already on it.

A heartfelt thank you to the tens of thousands of runners who have propelled us to become Australia's largest and premier marathon. We’ve got one year to go, and we're inviting everyone to rally behind us for the 2024 event as we aim to bring this one home.

This is our moment, our legacy. Let's make history once again. Let's make the Majors.

So, it's a no for Berlin.

I wanted to run Ljubljana during Covid year, so I think I might have a look at that one for Autumn now.

Chisinau is also appealing, but there were 186 finishers last year, last one in just under 6 hours, so I've nowhere to hide...
