Very minor effects on all vital signs so far, one of the fun side-effects of a modern garmin is things like resting pulse and blood oxygen level. I’ll start easy though, well aware of the horror stories.

jda I had very mild symptoms for the first week and then it got progressively worse. You sound as though you are being sensible though 😊

Better to be like the tortoise but good to hear you are able to run.

Noting here: "There are eight water stations on the route. SIS GO Isotonic Energy Gels and GO Energy + Caffeine Gels will be available at specific water stations." Gels at 9, 12, 18 & 21 miles by look of it. |

Did the last 7.5 miles of last years route as part of my long run this afternoon. Is the course likely to be unchanged for 2024, anyone here got inside intel? The website says: "The route for the 2024 adidas Manchester Marathon has yet to be confirmed." This year’s route has just been confirmed. As expected, the course is broadly the same as last year, but I think there is two (or possibly three) minor changes. - the route does a right off Deansgate for a few 100m out and back (last year it went a bit further up Deansgate) - the route out of Altrincham now includes a right turn before the bus station, so you miss running down the flyover - there may be a minor change between Sale Moor and Sale (which I’m not sure is a change or not) manchestermarathon.co.uk |

Re the Altrincham change, you do miss the flyover on the way back, but they've added in a very short but sharpish hill going over the railway line. There's currently a nice planter on that street as it's broadly pedestrianised, but I could see that being mildly annoying 16 odd miles into the race!

(I should add that it's much more preferable to go over the railway line bridge the way the marathon done - the Altrincham 10k approaches it from the other way and finishes just over the crest of the 'hill' and that certainly feels like hard work at the business end of a run).
