Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I hope you managed to get a place last night Solo, as the organisers have just announced it is now sold out (https://twitter.com/Marathon_Mcr/status/1744652761164050570).

I am sure that's the first time it has sold out since the race returned in 2012.

Thank you Nelly after much faff last night I now have an entry. I think the system must have kept crashing as I would get so far, it would freeze and then I would lose everything.

Maybe you will visit another time Bowman 🇸🇪

Hi - if anyone is looking for a Manhester marathon 2024 entry , let me know. I have an achilles injury , so can't foresee running it .

If you're interested - let me know your email address as the organisers have a process to transfer a place to another user.

I'd submit your email address whichh will initiate the process , you'll get an email from the organisers - requesting your register

Did the last 7.5 miles of last years route as part of my long run this afternoon. Is the course likely to be unchanged for 2024, anyone here got inside intel? The website says:

"The route for the 2024 adidas Manchester Marathon has yet to be confirmed."

Probably reasonable to assume broadly unchanged, I hope they cut out the extra wiggle that added a few metres last year :-) There has only been one significant change in the several years I've done it, when they started going more into the centre, and even then much of the course was the same.

How is everyones' plan going? I reckon race day is 12 weeks today, so hopefully you're all at least embarking on training, or perhaps well into it. Having just had a few days off due to covid I'll be playing catch-up for a while but I did at least manage a decent 20-miler last Sunday before coming down with it, so I'm not starting from scratch.

Just finished week 3 of 15. Did a half marathon distance run in the snow this week (that was fun! an excuse to be a bit slower :) ) and now onto a cutback week for week 4, so just a 9-miler coming up this next week and then back on it. Happy with pace in general - I'm much faster than I was last time I attempted a marathon.

Hope you don't get any lasting effects from covid jda I caught it the beginning of December and am still seeing effects although largely better.

I have managed a couple of 20 mile runs and took part in a 10 mile race today. I ran at tempo effort for 1.19.58.
