Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

You don't happen to have a Garmin 645 watch do you Fergus? Mine has an issue with the barometric altimeter that causes it to undulate up and down every 10-15 m which adds huge amounts of additional climb to the total which is the sort of distortion that your trace looks like it's generated.

Sushi.
Nelly I was going to say the same.

I did Chester last week and yesterday was definitely flatter though both are very flat marathons.

Imported from same watch the same way.

Chester - 8.6% flat
Manc - 6.1% flat.

Must be nigh on impossible to cover marathon distance with much less elevation gain.

I think Boston (uk!) may be flatter but very exposed if windy.

Is it too soon to get excited about Mancs 2022?

Funnily enough jda I was wondering whether it was "too soon" after yesterday's race to start the 2022 race thread ;-)

It is only 6 months after all! I’m already in pre-training - it will take a while before I’m capable of starting my real training plan (early Dec for 18 weeks).

Just dipping into the thread to say hello :)

1st timer at Manchester, although I've done a few marathons in the dim and distant past, I really enjoyed the route. There were enough (minor) undulations to keep things interesting without it feeling like a slog and the downhills gave a bit of a chance to stride out.

Fantastic support, plenty of water and gels all the way through and whilst I'm committing myself to a shot at the Boston Marathon next year, I'll definitely be back for this one in the future.

Bagged a 2:54 which considering it the first one since 2012, I was pleased with.

Great running everyone!
