My foot is still rubbish so I may not run at all but will no doubt drive out for support. I might bring my bike and potter round cheering you on (it is a public road and is not shut) BUT the ts and cs say no bikes on course. I think they just cut and paste this from another event though. Anyway, I can check beforehand but I am surely allowed to bike the route and stop every now and then to cheer you on - if you like that kind of thing. |

I would love that kind of thing for you not running though. We're getting to Akureyri on the Thursday and planning a trip to Grimsey on Friday. |

this is a dream marathon for me! Maybe next year?! Question: are there lots of mosquitoes? i've seen pictures of people running in mosquito nets. Only ever been to Iceland in the colder months. |

auburnette check out my blog from 2014. That is the only time we had to wear mosquito nets because it had been windless for a few days. You want to have a "light breeze" which prevents them all gathering. There are not mosquitos as such and mostly the insects are not bitey. Sometimes there are little gnats (a bit like Caithness midgies) but not usually here. fetcheveryone.com/blog/60676/2014/6/313972 |

We've booked to go to Grímsey on the Friday. I'm hoping for puffins. And maybe pufflings.

Morning Myvatners... Less than 2 weeks to go. I ran 10k on Saturday without stopping but I don't want to stump up $$$ to run a slow 10km. I'll be there, probably on my bike, to cheer you on. I was wondering if I should volunteer but then I might be stuck at one station and only see you all once. ANY THOUGHTS? I could be specific and say I offer to bike round with first aid kit. I am going to a friend's graduation recital (classical singing) on Friday night. It is free and open to everyone if you fancy it and are back from Grímsey in time. |

Minor setback here as my back is knackered again and I am not sure if I can make it to Mývatn at all (sitting is a Hard No so I have doubts about the drive). What do the travel plans look like either side? I'd love to do something here. I know you are planning a trip to Grímsey on the Friday but I have to work. |
