Some updates:

Flights also with easyjet from Belfast and Manchester, Wizzair from London (added to blog).

Registration now working again (I've signed up!)

We cannot get my friend's house at Mývatn BUT I can help look into cheap-ish (Icelandic standards) accommodation nearby if anyone is interested. (Actually, I just use booking.com.) If you are looking, the Mývatn starts and ends at the Mývatn nature baths, which are just off route 1, northeast of the lake.
