Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

All bananas are cuttings from a single plant. They are genetically identical, and very vulnerable to disease. The current species, the Cavendish, could easily be wiped out.

Nicest bananas I ever had were in Thailand. Little stubby sweet things. We bought a massive bunch and carried them with us for best part of a week.

Bananas should not be cooked. Nonsense.

Fritters. Banana. Pineapple. Spam.

You can fritter anything.

bananas are slightly radioactive
True, mainly from the potassium content.
There is a thing called the Banana Equivalent Dose, used to put the dose of radiation from something like an X-ray into context.

I'm not sure of the exact dose from the neck CT I had after a car crash, but it must have been around 10,000 bananas, probably about what I've eaten in the last 30 years. The X-ray I had when I smashed my shoulder up in January would have been more like 10 bananas.

As others have said.....

I wonder what call I’d make if I suspected a health issue that, if confirmed, would kybosh Kona. Don’t really want to think about the conflict that would rage (even though the answer is obvious).

Well done Greppers. Good luck Sir.....
