Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Not sure if that was the time Loraine but she certainly acted as his 'guardian' for one Manchester Mile so that Hammy could go, I suspect it was back in 2012/2013. She was also very supportive of him on one Lakeland Trails event when he took a tumble when I was still out on the course. She will be missed.

For anyone interested, 'Hammy' has just scaled Aconcagua in Argentina (at 6,960m, the highest peak outside the Himalayas) with his wife. He reports it was the hardest thing he has done!

I feel old now! I know my similar-age children are almost old ladies now, but I still think of Hamsterboy as, well, Hamsterboy. Massive achievement, well done to him.
