Having a dilemma about what to wear now. It’s going to be heavy rain for the entire run, 10 deg C. I was going in just a running vest, but now thinking if I will be warm enough. Ideas? Baz what are you wearing?

Chunkywizard I imagine it will be fine as you build the heat when running or maybe a short sleeved top if you are worried.

I am, not running it been ill past 4 weeks and gone to chest so being very sensible.

Good luck all runners:-)

Thanks, that’s what I thought as I will running at high intensity but just wanted to check I wasn’t been mad. Might take a hat and gloves just in case I get a bit cool.

Morning all.

Mrs Big G and I were nervously looking at the forecast, which is due to get bad later. As we were walking we wanted to dodge the worst of it so we started at 00:03 and got it done nice and early, and I’m sat in front of the TV now watching the elites. Hopefully I’ll stay awake!

I enjoyed the app, but it’s got my time 30mins quicker than it was. My Garmin shows 6:30 and the app shows 6:00 so there’s a bug somewhere.

But I really enjoyed it. I’ve never done a night event like this before and it was very odd walking past pubs that would usually be open as we started the walk. I’m really pleased we entered the event as this is not something I’d ever have done without the lure of the medal.

CW. T shirt and arm warmers. Think we are ok here. Heavy rain overnight but now gone off.

I always have hat and gloves easy to take off if it gets too warm.

I’d probably take a showerproof unless it was a true race effort. Easy to put on and off on the run (tie round waist). And a cap or hat of some sort. You can get pretty cold and miserable past 2h IME.
