I’m sure that almost anyone and definitely anyone on here that signed up for this can complete the distance in 24 hours, it’s mostly a case of how much you want to.

I have just said to Mr GM that the final part of my marathon training is to watch Run, Fat Boy, Run this evening I'm only walking around our village tomorrow so won't take anything with me except a few sweets. I'm making a stash of peanut butter and jam sandwiches so I can grab one when I pop home as and when along with ready salted crisps. I am tempted to do this overnight as that is when the weather is best....

I like the idea of having it finished by breakfast time and then having the luxury of watching the elite races. I won’t be doing that though. I’m planning on starting around 7am and keeping going until it’s done.

Does anyone know if the LM app tracks the runner you are following in their real location or virtually imposes their position on the official route?

GM, I am tempted to start very early as well, come back, watch the elites, change clothes and go out again. I was really looking forward to the elites and although Bekele is out, I still would like to see them. The ladies race looks like it could be a good one too.
I've ran marathons before but I'm walking this one with OH, who hasn't done an event before and isn't a runner (she's a good walker though). The weather here in the SW looks like it's going to be getting worse mid-morning so getting a decent chunk done before then would be preferable I think. As we're walking splitting it up seems like the way forward for us I think, in light of the predicted forecast.

I’m doing laps of about 5k too, at a walk. I’ll stick to pavements and hope there aren’t too many giant puddles! It’s rained all day and looks set to rain all night too. Good thing I got an email from London Marathon telling me to wear my mac eh? I’d have got v wet otherwise
