Interesting to see the official page with the course because, afaik, that is in a completely different place from where it was originally planned to be, at Barassie to the north of Troon (where, about four years ago I was walking along and thinking "you could have a parkrun here". And which I thought the same when revisiting a couple of months ago.)

The event was always known as Barassie in the planning, I will have to ask why the change. It is now on the site of the Troon 10k start and finish right? Site of the worst weather I have ever seen at a 10k race!

Looking back on the FB from September "We have an exciting change of course which is a fully tarmac surface suitable for all abilities and in a central area of Troon". A previous post mentions it being in the Barassie park and beach area. I'd seen the post, but as there are tarmac paths in the Barassie/ Troon North Beach area I thought they had just decided to use them exclusively (which was my first expectation anyway) rather than a mixed terrain route.

I've never ran the Troon 10K, but I can certainly imagine how that stretch could catch a bit of the weather.

I know its not the UK but three parkruns start in Germany on the 2nd of December...
