Thanks Grid, it's particularly fiddly to update on a phone, so I tend to do tidying up when back on my computer :-)

I heard about the new Norwich one yesterday - couldn't get an idea of the start date though. I wonder if Norwich parkrun will be renamed (Eaton parkrun? Norwich Eaton parkrun?) once there are three in the city, in the same way that Leeds parkrun became Woodhouse Moor.

Volunteers including an Event Director are being sought for a parkrun in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. Provisionally the start will be near the leisure centre (Eynesbury).

Bressay will probably not have to put out a plea to tourists to stay away from the inaugural! But it will regain the title of 'World's Most Northerly' parkrun for Scotland.

Won't the one in Finland still be more Northerly?

The ferry across to Bressay is going to be busy on Saturday mornings. Presume they'll have the later start time given its northerly-ness.

Having been up to Shetland many many years ago (spent most of my time on Unst, which is the most northerly of the Shetland Islands) it's a gorgeous place to visit, and the inter-island ferries are fun.

Ferry capacity is limited though, and I'd imagine there'd be a fair few cancellations in the winter if the ferries aren't allowed to cross!

Would love to go back to the islands though, and if I did Bressay parkrun would have to be on the list of things to do.

But the allegation was that Bressay would be the World's Most Northerly...

World's Most Northerly Scottish parkrun? :-)

About This Thread

Maintained by sLickster
There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
