Just read in the latest National Trust regional newspaper/events listing for Yorkshire & the North East that along with Gibside new parkruns are planned to start this Spring at Fountains Abbey/Studley Royal Park (near Ripon, North Yorkshire) and also on the Durham Coast (nowhere more precise mentioned for the latter!).

Ok, great. I'm hopeful of getting to Gibside, though need to sort out accommodation with the family as a 350+mile round trip on the day isn't too feasible ;-) Will be the first true 'out n back' course I've done, I've always wanted to do one of them as it will mean you get to see everyone who runs that day, which should be great.

I popped in to say a colleague mentioned Oakwell Hall at work today but beaten to it - could become a local favourite for me as mostly trail! :)

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
