Has anyone done the Herts Hobble? I've been brave (or stupid) and decided to run it for the first time this year, on my own. Are the directions usually accurate? I'll be way at the back so will not have anyone to follow :)

I did it for my 100th :-) Yes, I seem to recall the instructions were of good standard.

Its usually available pre race...I think they send it to you. We put them in our garmins the times we did it. You still need the instructions but it helps a lot :)

Thanks. I tried a GPX file for the Poppyline 30 but I don't think it worked. All I had was an arrow which pointed in various directions (not always the way I was heading!) As you can tell, technology is not my forte :) I have printed the instructions and maybe will look on a map for a general idea of the route.

The Herts Hobble is accurate. In fact, last year, I felt the instructions were a little too precise (cross the field ENE 133 yds to a telegraph pole with a small grey box on the side, then turn N to leave field through hedge gap.)

Didn't stop everyone at the front getting lost because they hadn't listened to the briefing. I was following Curly45 and Magpie Rob and they knew what they were doing...

I'm looking forward to it. I did the Flower of Suffolk on my own last year, managed to get majorly lost, just after I thought to myself how well I was doing with the instructions :) Still, that's half the fun of these events lol
