I forgot Trollers and Rombalds Stride. Some the these events are fund raisers for MR, Rotary, school, church roof etc. All good

No posts since 2014!! Love the LDWA events. Done the Filey flier / Scarborough rock in north yorks , both crackers. The Wolds 20, Golden fleece again in east Yorks. Fun days with plenty of hills and mud. As others have said though they are low key competitions with fantastic food stations and hot meals with pudding at the end. lots of them even give a badge . I've got quite a selection now and don't really know what to do with them. all the above for £10 or less... Amazing

Poppyline for me this year. The Shotley 50 later on in the year. Possibly the Daffodil Dawdle for a nice day out. Maybe others too... Can't beat an LDWA event Directions with cryptic codes, measurements which mix not only the size of unit, but imperial and metric on the same page, and the only kit requirements being that you bring you own mug That phot reminds me of a less severe event where the two guys I was with were faffing about skirting a puddle, and I decided as a sandal wearer to not faff and go straight through. Bit deeper than I expected as it went over my knees Made them smile... |

I was about to set this thread up and it’s a good thing I checked first to see if there was one. Prompted in part by Rosehip’s reports on LDWA events, I am thinking of joining the LDWA for next year. It’s a low-cost membership fee (£18 for an individual membership) and there are good discounts on event entry prices. Im looking at trying a couple of the challenge events as part of the training for my two “big” 2023 events. Has anyone done either the Sidmouth Saunter 30-mile or the Cerne Giant 30-mile? |
