I might never get another chance. It's not going to be the respectable time I wanted to train for, but it'll be what it is and that will be an adventure :)

I've decided this year training is overrated.

I'm relying on you 50ers to drag me the last 30 miles! Still working on a plan for the first 75.

I did wonder about that. I’m aiming for a finish in the mid 30s so wasn’t sure if I would be ploughing through the back of the 50s field or having the front runners on fresh legs coming past?

NDW if you finish in the mid 30s the only 50s guys you will see are those that run under 10 hours and the leaders won't catch you until around Kentmere. You definitely won't be ploughing through anyone! Two years the 50 runners I was using to drag me along near the end were running around 9.30, only 27 50 runners passed me and I finished 30th.

time getting to Dalemain "wrong" and spend too long at one of the checkpoints and it could be both, Dave :)

Flanker - I hope you don't find yourself with me - I won't get you to Coniston on time. I think it's going to be the full 24 hours get your money's worth for me

I hope the cake is good

I've just experimented with some bright coloured tape on my knee and booked one of the sessions for taping (massage also available) that was posted on facebook yesterday.
I have brainwashed myself to believe that it works, please no-one put me right :)

A mid 30s hr finish will probably see the leading 50 runners come past between Dalemain and Howtown. After a short while, the paces of the two groups naturally merge. It’s nice to get through Dalemain before they set off but from experience you’ll get so much encouragement it’s a real boost.

Taping will be great Rosehip. And the brighter the tape the better it will be.
