Pix was asking about long socks a while back. I have on my shelf the Country Living book of country weekend socks. 25 patterns, mostly longer than standard socks, some plain, some colours and patterns and in different weights, not sock wool. I am currently trying to finish a pair in left over 5 ply fisherman's yarn and not all that impressed as there's a bit of instructions missing, but possibly worth a look if anyone is feeling a bit brave and don't mind busking a bit. Or you actually read the instructions before diving in. ISBN 978 1 906417 43 7

Yes. Should be. But I find differences in sock yarns, some very skinny, some quite chunky.

Today I am wearing my new Bagpuss sweater. I bought the kit from a magazine offer probably 15 years ago and after an initial burst of enthusiasm doing the picture got bored with acres of navy. But I dug it out and got it done. It is long and square and squeeky acrylic.

I like it! All that navy wool though. I'd have struggled to get that finished too.
