Well I have started knitting again after 28 or so years away. Couldn't remember how to cast on (good old you tube). My issues is I have completed the first part of the pattern, need to change needles now and have suddenly realised instead of initially using 3.25 needles, i was using 3.5 - would you undo or just carry on? Need to now go up to 4mm needles? (its a baby cable top) Mandy |

Measure what you've done, Mandymoo. How does the actual size compare with the tension recommendations on the pattern? Or if you can't use that information, do you think the fabric you've made so far is too loose, too tight, or just right?

Vrap's right...check the measurements and what needles were you supposed to change to after doing the ribbing? If 3.5mm, then you should be all right. It also depends on how tight or loose you knit as well. I've gotten away with it in the past when I didn't have the right needles as 1/4 of a mm is quite a small difference.

If the fabric looks and feels OK, I'd just go on to the 4mm needles for the next section as the pattern states.
