Exactly. Can you please name the translator? They weren't all originally written in English.

Question: when I list books I have read untranslated, obvs I don't mention a translator but for example:
Italy:
Italo Calvino, Se una notte d'inverno un viaggiatore.
Translated as: If on a Winter's night a traveller.
If I happen to know it has been translated?

That makes it easier for you to find...
I rate that ^^^ highly. Calvino will feature much, as I wrote my thesis on him.
I am currently sat outside my workshop which holds Italian, translated into English, some Dutch and all English lit so I may head in and give you a few. I also have things translated into Dutch, not English, like some Russians.

Also: in a previous life I was a translator so, especially in literature, where you almost re-write in conflab with the author, the translator is seriously important :)

In the house it is heaving with Dutch and there is also French, German and Spanish.
I shall avoid English, even though it is foreign gobbledegook ;) but that is not what this thread is about.

Ah but I don't have actual translations? So I may know the title of an English translation but not the translator. And I really do not have the wherewithall to research all of that!

Then don't put the English title, please, if you are not prepared to do the 20s of work to find out who translated the book. As a former translator, surely you understand the importance of this.

Do we really need another book thread?

Well I'm starting one anyway. It may be a solo thread...
