Finished Time Shelter a few nights ago by Georgi Gospodinov

Translated by Angela Rodel

It was good I did wonder if it was too deep for me. But I did like his style of writing and the translation was good not that I'm an expert

Also read Before the coffee gets cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi trans. Geoffrey Trousselot that was a book group book.
I think that was my 3rd Japanese book

Just started The Guide by Indian author R K Narayan which was a recommendation

But also started You will never be found by Tove Alsterdal translation Alice Menzies

Swedish crime so good so far

I seem to like swedish writers I don't know why easy to read I gave read several will have to do a count. Don't know if it's easier to translate from an English point of view or something else

Me again

A new to me author. This was translated by Alice Menzies

And it was so good. Unputdownable

First I must say if you don't like the gory details of a crime its not for you.

Set in the Northern parts of Sweden I found myself googling place names. Should really of made notes these places do exist. And the history quite fascinating

Now I like my chapters this does but they are long over 100 pages for the first 2. But it wasn't bad it does at least have paragraphs

It's crime at its finest a body is found in a derelict building then one of the lead detectives goes missing feared captured can they find him before it's too late

This was a library book I've bought the first book in the series to read later.

I've read 177 books if counted right since 2014 when fetch book group was formed. 10th anniversary next year. Out of that 11 have been from Sweden

Do we really need another book thread?

Well I'm starting one anyway. It may be a solo thread...
