V'rap shared a very ornate presentation plate in the front of a book awarded as a prize yesterday. Here is a rather more austere approach. The book is the first of a four-volume history book.

The recipient is my maternal grandfather. I know nothing about the donor, other than what is shown on the page. It looks as of the book once graced the shelves of a chaplain who served overseas and then returned to the village of Walford, near Ross-on-Wye, which is where my grandfather grew up. Why the presentation was made is not recorded!

I have an inscription with a flamboyant signature but it's on the back of a large picture and I'm a bit wary of detaching it from the wall.
