Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

It means the set pace is wrong but you’re doing fine, mate.

Although I tried and succeeded some of the time to maintain 18 spm I find it difficult. Just can't get into the rhythm at that rate. Tbh I usually skip the 18 spm part of a workout and stick to 20.

I think these things are generally only guides. I guess if you're doing water rowing and need to co-ordinate with the other 7/3/1 rowers in the boat with you it takes on another dimension but for us I don't think we need to be so strict.

Knocked out 2 x 7 min @ r26 with a 3 min rest last night. Slightly quicker than the 2 x 6 @ r26 from last week, so that's nice.

UT2/ Aerobic session in the shed this morning. I'm still getting my head round long continuous stuff so I broke it to 3 x 15 minutes @ r18. HR is getting closer to what the "pace guide" tells me it should be at this sort of rate/ pace, so I guess that's good.

A few days off for me. Muttley Jnr is visiting and most of my training is being done down the pub ...

Sounds like a great reason to have a little break in your training, Muttley. Have fun.

Back at it today. 40 minutes, start at 2k+25 and after every 4 minutes speed up by 2 secs/500, so you end on 2k+7.

Sounds okay but the final 4 minutes is tough on the back of 36 minutes of acceleration. A good sweaty workout.

Full disclosure here: I do not and will not watch Dragons Den.

However, I've been alerted to a product being touted on there thaat has some crossover for our little thread:

roadrower.com

It's almost like someone thought "I like Indoor rowing but wouldn't it be nice to be able to row outdoors", then didn't make the obvious leap from there.

Hmmm. Looks fine with a curvy model rowing/riding along the seafront under a blazing sun in southern California or along an empty desert road. In the traffic dodging the potholes along the A3047 and the up the dirty great hill to Tesco, in the pissing rain ... nah, somehow I can't see it.

And a t-shirt for £35, anyone?

Hahahaha!
What a bunch of fannies! And they missed the obvious point that if you're rowing you need to be facing backwards. Idiots ;)
