Yeah, when you change your technique you're going to be putting the force through different muscles. The whole thing with the "perfect" technique is that it puts as much of the force as possible through the biggest and strongest muscle groups. Even so, when you change things it's going to hit bits that aren't used to it! 15km done this morning. 2k warm up and 2k warm down with 5 x 2km in the middle at tempo pace. It's the first proper effort I've done in over a month so I'm quite pleased with how I got through that. Still a lot of work to do! |

(I know the maths doesn't add up on that last post. 250m recoveries between the efforts made up the missing Km.)

Put in another steady state 10k this afternoon for my first double day in ages. I also did 1000m with feet unstrapped to get a bit of tekkers work in too. 26kms for the day. I'm tired but I feel like it's been a good day. |

Nice going Nellers - near enough a metric marathon Warmup, then 2k, then steady/easy session once recovered, 9:51 for the 2k - think I could shave 10secs off that, at least I know where I'm at currently |

Realised I hadn't come back on here: I was fixing and rebuilding my water rower, if you recall. Well, it proved harder than I thought even with YouTube. The hardest bits were in the reassembly which their vids tend to skim over, particularly how you get tension in the belt and the detail of what pulleys which belt goes over etc. Anyway, I finished it last night, gritted my teeth and refused to lose my temper and rebuilt it and refilled the water. Made sure it doesn't leak and set it out on the study/gym floor and ... the computer doesn't work. As I recall, it was on the blink before. New batteries etc and it's still deaded. So I can row, but I won't get any stats. Might have to bite the bullet and buy a new computer. |

That's annoying McG! I had to get a new monitor for mine not long ago - there's no way I could motivate myself to row without it.

Plus side: I currently have a Series 3 and the upgrade would be to a Series 4 which has a lot more data Minus side: it's over £130 Another plus: Water Rower will install it FOC (once you've bought the thing) Another negative: you have to post the footboard to them |
