No I don't see any "clients" at all and as you say it's a skirt!

But the email is so bad

So people wearing sweatshirts with slogans are ok?
or normal jeans?
short skirts?

it says
we reasonably ask that you please refrain from wearing the following at work:
Baseball hats in the office
Sports / Gym clothing
Football shirts
Ripped jeans
'Slogan' T shirts
Cropped tops

I’d argue it’s not gym wear it’s casual wear.

good thinking!

It used to be smart casual with own clothes friday so jeans friday only

the new "advice" is as useful as a chocolate fire guard

So I could wear an Outlaw Tee as it's not a slogan! and normal jeans and not ripped maybe a rugby shirt?

Can't see why skorts should be out if short skirts are in. Was this dress code drawn up by a creepy old bloke who wants the constant excitement of the possibility that he might get a flash of your knickers?

(sniggers)
exactly it's so badly written
so some people (those who only bother to turn up once a month now) wear tee shirts that are unsuitable due to the wording on them
Mine say things like believe and run more stress less
to stop the bad ones all have to go
my skort is apparently too sporty

so when I run in I normally arrive early and start work whilst cooling down the change after 10-20 mins .... is this no longer allowed as I am sat at my desk in sport clothing?

I would query that, Pix. Don't think they're being very inclusive.

It seems unnecessary since you're not dealing with customers face to face and there's nothing about skorts or non-political slogan t-shorts that should upset colleagues. I could understand an embargo on walking around the office shrink-wrapped in cycling shorts.

That seems a shame. At the school where I worked the governors had to bring in a dress code as some of the younger staff were wearing really inappropriate clothes, which left little to the imagination! But they banned leggings (which I regularly wore with a tunic top), so we had to fight to get them reinstated .. so it might be worth you challenging 🤔
