Good start then Ultradunc

Plan was 30 mins tempo

Did 25 mins last week average pace 7:50 this week did 30 mins tempo average pace 7:35 so pleased to see the improvement in pace even with the increased time. Slightly disappointed to not quite make 4 miles in the 30 mins but only because I covered 3.96
Hope everyone else had a good day

Morning, I don’t understand running ;-) . Sunday I really struggled with 5k - walked lots of it and the running part felt hard..got 31.47 so not bad. Today my run felt so much better with no walk but yet my 5k was 32.32 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️. Anyway I got 4 miles done and didn’t feel like I was dying at the end.

Morning lip gloss , running is weird but so many variables it’s why perhaps we don’t get bored and are perhaps seen as strange

Never doubted you, Dunc :)

Lip Gloss Your comment made me reflect that running is mainly about what happens in the two extremities of the body: head and feet. ;)

3rd run completed today so far, slightly tired legs but overall feeling very good. Traffic a lot quieter compared to yesterday at the same time. Exchanged a few pleasantries with dog walkers, not as cold as expected and it’s dry but rather gloomy. Birds seem happy with all the singing, squirrels are conspicuous with their absence so perhaps are hibernating?

Going well ultradunc

Running appears to be almost as much about the head as legs

I actually think that its more in the head than the legs. Anyone read Endure? I found that one very interesting.
Nice run today, a sunny ten miles tempo run.

Oh, didn't mean to be controversial! When a run went poorly, I used to assign blame to either (a) breathing, or (b) lower limbs. This was many years before running websites, fancy watches and 'ahem' shoes with unusually bouncy heels. ;)

I don't run 'testingly' enough these days, so stay within efforts that deliver enjoyment. However, for runners & racers keener than me, there's little doubt that attitude and motivation are essential contributors to success.
