Finally watched it and wiping away my tears, even though I had read the book so knew how it ended. I thought the last few episodes were good, the first few were very slow. Now I want to visit Oxford again! I haven't been since I was a teenager and I think I would like to visit the Botanic Gardens.

I don't think I'm disappointed by that message larks. And it is a young adults book, not a searing epic! G

Oh, I love the message. It's just a little less sophisticated than I think I was expecting from the routes that the rest of the book went through.

The Beatles travelled the world, sampled numerous religions and mind altering drugs, to conclude All You Need Is Love. Perhaps it's all simpler than we know...?!
But yes, it was a lovely ending in the TV adaptation. A bit less visceral than the book, but beautifully and reasonably subtly done. G
