Northern Exile
I think DK is ace. She's playing being drugged, trapped by her mother, missing her best friends, abandoned by her father, with no hope of escape. I think she's allowed to look a bit like a rabbit in the headlights! And Will P has improved. MacAvoy is hamming it up brilliantly. Ruth Wilson continues to be sinister, even in sign language. The angels are interesting- powerful, but vulnerable too. I'm only on Ep 3. Looking forward to catching up a bit! G

We'll have to agree to disagree there methinks. I watched episode three last night for a second time as I was a bit sleepy the first time I saw it ..... admittedly she's grown up since the second series and perhaps it's because she's surrounded by such fantastic actors (Ruth Wilson, James McEvoy etc), but the consensus hereabouts is that she's not putting much passion into it.

Happy Christmas to all HDM fans. Just wondering - did anyone work out the location of Lord Asriel's rather incredible military camp, right at the top of those cliffs?? I'm sure it's the Brecon Beacons and actually part of the Dragon's Back route, I was running there just a few weeks back!

There'll be no spoilers from me here...

but...if the filming locations & use of CGI are of interest, there is a link within this site that leads to a detailed breakdown of where HDM was filmed, and how CGI filled gaps.

So it was t' Brecon Beacons then. Must admit I haven't recognised any other parts other than that ridge. Asriel's camp would have been on Bannau Sir Gaer. Thanks SW :-)

Still on catch up. The bomb just landed. Seriously god would be a bloke as it was invented by blokes.

Lyra and Will are a tad better but still dull. The oil and Amber stuff is still ludicrous.

OK though.

Pullman definitely ran out of ideas after this....

Yes. A not very good one in the third book.
