As Boab says, you'll find that the whw winners and front runners who have also done fling use it as a training tool. That was indeed why the race was born.

It might end up a slow one for me as i've managed to tweak my calf during yesterday's recce!!
I did enjoy running the low road though - much more interesting than the landrover track..

I'm afraid I am out of the Fling this year. I'm just not recovering fast enough from the 100km and I have some plans for the later in the year that I don't want to jeopardise. I'm sad about it, but relieved that I don't have to put my body through it again so soon. I'm carrying a couple of small niggles (new ones) as well, so I need to manage them. Will try to get up though as it looks very exciting at the pointy end.
