We dnf'd too. We were running well until just before Inversnaid, when Mrs JD tripped and fell. Turned out she had broken her nose, and ended up with a couple of stitches in her lip too. We were whizzed across the lake in a speedboat and driven to the hospital. Everybody involved was really helpful, and we are both really grateful for all the concern and help.
We'll be back next year.

Siouxsie mentioned the broken nose person to me! Glad to hear all ok, sorry to about that. Sorry I missed you guys, minty, MrsS ( got hugs from hubby though enroute and at end) and all rest of you. Fabulous to see HappyG at cow poo alley which was as dry as a bone I had an amazing race and felt good all the way having a little dip on roller oyster ( no pun intended!) did 10.37 and bagged bronze vet medal for Scottish ultra champs

57.5 Degrees of Pain
That was a fun day out! Good to talk to _andy before he went bouncing off over the lochside rocks. Well done to all the finishers (especially santababy for winning the bling) and commiserations to the DNFs.
My 4 miles around Leuchars were pretty painful today, but a couple of beers in the Eden Mill brewery helped ease the pain.We certainly lucked out with the weather yesterday, several inches of snow at Daviot on the A9 south of Inverness this afternoon!

You were flying santa - very well done, great time and top placing! Weather was fab, actually yesterday in NW and today in East! Lucky me. I thought the spirit of Flip must have been there - lovely sunny day with a cooling breeze! G

Wow, I KNOW that I have now ran an ultra, that was something else and a half! Brilliant time and spoke to so much nice people, a lot doing their 1st (like me) fling.
Sorry to hear about Mrs JD, I passed by as she was being attended to and noted then that she had what looked like a broken nose, ouch then, didn't realise about the lip. ouch ouch. Somebody commented that she could pull out at the next stop but she said "no, I'll manage to carry on"! I didn't realise that it was her that was being picked up by the boat (again I was passing as it came into the beach) Hope she gonna be ok. Finished in 13hr 44min and was just glad to get back, cracking affair and still haven't mastered my stairs yet. Thanks all for making it such an unforgettable experience.
