Big hugs and thanks to weekatiepea and Tomsmum (and everybody else) that helped me get across that red sea of carpet, honestly was brilliant to have folk cheering and clapping you on, even if my sister does say that I looked like a neep for having my pipe (she's jealous cause she didn't think of it!)!!

Apologies for asking in here but there seems to be a knowledgeable crowd around... First off my partner told me that there were Fling hoodies available but I was too done in after the event to do much beyond have my soup and walk to the car. Is there a way to still pick one of these up somehow?
Also to try and keep the momentum going somewhat I was looking for another (slightly less harrowing) event and was swithering between either the Glencoe marathon or the Glen Ogle Ultra - has anyone done either or both? I see a thread on last year's Glen Ogle but nothing for Glencoe... I'd ideally be looking for something with a bit of a 'mixed ability' field similar to the Fling.

I can't speak for Glencoe but Glen Ogle is superb, one of the organisers is a Fetcie and ran the Fling on Saturday. Sells out like hot cakes though...
Are you on FB? Johnny posted there about ordering a new batch of hoodies to sell by post.

Thanks Duchess. I'm not FB (long story) - I've emailed the orders@... address. I like the idea of Glen Ogle - know the area well so I'm thinking maybe that. Looks like it opens for entry in June so I'll be there waiting... Cold in November though?

57.5 Degrees of Pain
That was me FF. I decided to sashay down the red carpet and get some cheers and a good finish picture rather than try (and probably fail) to 'outsprint' the Carnethy guy.

Enjoyed hosting Saturday's winner tonight. He is planning a nice little 43 mile run around the Cairngorms and back through the Lairig Ghru tomorrow. Respect!

Really 57? Matthew Laye the American guy was staying at yours? Or were you out eating/drinking with them? I chatted to the lady that was supporting him (and I think her husband was also taking part, further down the field). They were really excited that he won. I love how international these events are getting. Can only be good for Scottish ultra running scene and Scottish sport and even tourism generally. Well done for being a welcoming host! G
