Thanks PP. She really didn't want to pull out, but her nose was swelling up in an alarming way, and it didn't want to stop bleeding. She's doing fine, a bit swollen, bruised and scraped, but OK.

JD are you/MrsJD on the FB page? There's a post from the race medic asking for any of the day's casualties to get in touch; it helps to ensure they have the right coverage for future years and other ultras.
Glad Mrs JD is okay now.

Thoroughly enjoyed my first Fling maybe a little too much early on! but after a rough patch climbing up to Glen Bogle I rallied well over the last six miles to finish pretty close to the best expectations I had A really great day out
Sorry to hear about about your wife JD I hope she mends quickly. A few went down quite hard around me on the lochside but apart from a couple of minor toe scuffs I had a good day bouncing over the rocks (grip on the x-talons was like glue :-)), though not as good as _andy who closed me down over that stretch and then pulled away by a few minutes from Bein Glas.

Thanks Duchess, I hadn't seen that. I've sent a message to the race medic.

PP was that gun time or chip time? if it was gun then you crossed the line 6 seconds before us 13:44:25 (gun) we held back for a few seconds to let you finish so jnrDuggan could get his victory photo.

13hr 48min was gun time, 13hr 44 min was chip time. As a first timer I set off in the 12+ hours section. I crossed the line along with another lady almost together I think. I was thanking everybody with a wave of my celebratory plastic toy pipe as I crossed the line!
Happy days!

57.5 were you the Inverness runner that finished with a guy from Carnethy three behind me? I'd been swooping positions with the Carnethy guy from about 6 miles, thought I'd got away before Bein Glas only for him to nearly catch me at the end!
