Cancel that! I just went to check that I’d set the camera to video and not stills and heard some rustling. There was hedgehog going back in the hog house. 😀

Since around when Ally-C posted we’d not seen our regular hog, but continued to put out food and change it after several days, but this morning the food had gone, as had the food our neighbour puts out in their garden. We’ve both put cameras out tonight to see if hog reappears for a feed or not. We thought that it might have hibernated, but possibly it felt the need for food yesterday. |

I know nothing about hedgehogs, we put out our uneaten cat food for them & have a hole cut in the fence to stop them getting trapped. Do they hibernate at the same time of year every year or does it depend on the outside temperature? |

Some nocturnal visitors, probably foxes, are leaving deposits around our garden. I noticed they also left a deposit on my neighbours astroturf last night

We haven't had much hedgehog activity this year but still have foxes. We do have an amusing litter of baby squirrels at the moment, but they're daytime not nocturnal. |

I’m not 100% sure Ally-C. It’s generally between October/ November and March April, so I assume that it’s to do with temperature and maybe length of day. If the autumn/winter is mild they might wake up to forage. |
