Personally I think having the windows and doors open to allow a breeze would work better but agree with the curtains and blinds drawn. I'm in my Motorhome at the moment and that definitely works better for me.
Full disclosure I have no scientific knowledge to support my theory ๐

Windows open, curtains closed I'd have thought. Unless you have aircon. Air flow and shade is what you need.
Freeze bottles of water and put the in front of a fan blowing into the room... rustic air con!
And no. No heat wave here!! Forecast 26 degrees tops on Tuesday then possibly a massive thunderstorm.
Given that I'm generally in a T-shirt and feeling warm when temps are over 15 degrees here though I still think going to feel quite ๐ฅ

It's getting hot here but there's still a gentle, cooling breeze. We've got the canopy open to keep the sun out of the living room, bedroom curtains closed and windows open. It's cooler in the house than outside at the moment. Further preparations include putting 2 bottles of lemonade in the fridge so I can make jugs of cooling Pimms later.

If you want to cool your head, get a hat.

Here (Edinburgh), it's warm but not hot - about 21C according to the forecast. We are expecting to hit 30C on Tuesday. Then we're getting storms on Wednesday!

Top tip, fill a bath with cold water and just leave it. Every time you get that overheated feeling, especially at night just plonk yourself in it. Or dunk just your top half, or legs. Cools you beautifully, I donโt even dry myself after as the evaporation gives you more cooling (in this heat any water on the floor etc will be gone in minutes).

Windows closed, curtains closed. If the air temperature outside gets to the level expected you don't want it inside your living space. If you have shutters externally close them as well. Preserve the cooler air inside. If you have a habitable cellar consider camping in that.
I shave off what remains of my hair and wear a hat.
We tend to be minimalist with clothing but I suspect that may be too much information...
