Just had an awesome run with Joopsy. Pre FLM casual trot with me talking 19 to the dozen as usual. 6 miles recovery after last nights efforts and as HR goes my Best run this year. Felt so easy and could easily have done more.

6 miles, 59:00 - 9:49 pace average HR 137 !!

It deserves exclamation marks as 137 was 66% with my old MAX HR and I was not runing anywhere near that pace then for 70%,and suddenly now it's 6 miles at well under 10:00 pace for 64%.

On top of the world!

Oh, and Joopsy is in excellent shape for FLM. 8:00 min miles for the first 5 miles mate, get the time in the bank!

well done on the run lums, looking really good.

Like your plan for Joo, always good to get as much time in the bank at the start and then just hold on!!

Not sure if anyone's interested but I did my final FLM training run today
6.28 miles
Avg pace 10:30/mi
76%WHR!

Which I think is virtually spot on my PMP! Maybe a tad quicker but it felt very comfortable and certainly maintainable for most of the 26 miles.

Everything you need to know about training with a heart rate monitor. Remember the motto "I can maintain a fast pace over the race distance because I am an Endurance God". Mind the trap door....

Gobi lurks here, but for his advice you must first speak his name. Ask and you shall receive.

A quote:

"The area between the top of the aerobic threshold and anaerobic threshold is somewhat of a no mans land of fitness. It is a mix of aerobic and anaerobic states. For the amount of effort the athlete puts forth, not a whole lot of fitness is produced. It does not train the aerobic or anaerobic energy system to a high degree. This area does have its place in training; it is just not in base season. Unfortunately this area is where I find a lot of athletes spending the majority of their seasons, which retards aerobic development. The athletes heart rate shoots up to this zone with little power or speed being produced when it gets there." Matt Russ, US International Coach
