My Garmin HRM has given up the ghost past 4 days .
Is the OH1 out of stock or a newer version?
Wrist based does not work for me 20 beats higher than it should be on a run!

I have indeed changed battery and the power on it has only used a tiny bit.

Yes mine is the Verity Sense. Not sure the actual Tech has changed, more that they changed the strap from what I read. People had fedback the old strap turned over while running. This one also can be undone via Velcro (I think that was another difference)

Just read and it says improved battery life, larger memory, not that matters to most as we sync after each workout. It also has a wider broadcast range, again not really one for runners, cyclists as we link to watch but can see the benefit if using in say a football team.

What is the panel's current thinking on best chest heart rate monitor? I've had a couple of unreliable readings from my CooSpo of late so am thinking of going for a Polar H10. Wondering what others I should consider.

Everything you need to know about training with a heart rate monitor. Remember the motto "I can maintain a fast pace over the race distance because I am an Endurance God". Mind the trap door....

Gobi lurks here, but for his advice you must first speak his name. Ask and you shall receive.

A quote:

"The area between the top of the aerobic threshold and anaerobic threshold is somewhat of a no mans land of fitness. It is a mix of aerobic and anaerobic states. For the amount of effort the athlete puts forth, not a whole lot of fitness is produced. It does not train the aerobic or anaerobic energy system to a high degree. This area does have its place in training; it is just not in base season. Unfortunately this area is where I find a lot of athletes spending the majority of their seasons, which retards aerobic development. The athletes heart rate shoots up to this zone with little power or speed being produced when it gets there." Matt Russ, US International Coach
