El bee,

Looks like you have built a nice aerobic base:) Are you going to start some intervals soon?

All of my races are a build up to the 10 in 10, Jeremy.....
And I'm training at 80 mile weeks, and think nothing of pottering around hilly marathon courses just because it makes sense!
Now - why don't you tell me what my plan should be until my next race - which is a marathon on Sunday..!!

:)

El bee,

If you are satisfied with your current speed then just stick with what you are doing.

Deenzy, Sportstest are local to me and I think one of the guys involved is Stuart from my local tri club. Apart from the fact they have this photo of me sportstest.co.uk looking really fat running out of T2 with jelly legs and a heel strike on their site it all looks really good.

Any ideas on hr for short (and I mean short) runs? I've got a 30 min run planned later it it takes 20 mins of that for my body to get used to running. Should I be trying to get things under control earlier?

Everything you need to know about training with a heart rate monitor. Remember the motto "I can maintain a fast pace over the race distance because I am an Endurance God". Mind the trap door....

Gobi lurks here, but for his advice you must first speak his name. Ask and you shall receive.

A quote:

"The area between the top of the aerobic threshold and anaerobic threshold is somewhat of a no mans land of fitness. It is a mix of aerobic and anaerobic states. For the amount of effort the athlete puts forth, not a whole lot of fitness is produced. It does not train the aerobic or anaerobic energy system to a high degree. This area does have its place in training; it is just not in base season. Unfortunately this area is where I find a lot of athletes spending the majority of their seasons, which retards aerobic development. The athletes heart rate shoots up to this zone with little power or speed being produced when it gets there." Matt Russ, US International Coach
